Palazzo Las Vegas Overview

Situated between Wynn and The Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip, the Palazzo is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. The property's design is marketed as being reflective of a modern European ambiance and luxury living.

This all-suite hotel offers the largest standard accommodations on the Las Vegas Strip at 720-square-feet per guest room. In its first year of eligibility, The Palazzo was awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award for 2010.

The casino design shows a noticeable Asian influence coupled with its Italianate design sense. Interspersed between the inlaid frescoes and other Italian trimmings are architectural allusions to Shoji doors and other Chinese and Japanese interior touches.

The $1.8 billion resort features a Lobby where guests from the street arrive beneath a 60-foot (18 m) glass dome with a two-story fountain. Those approaching from The Venetian make the transition through a towering octagonal structure and garden, itself topped by a glass-and-iron dome. Visitors to The Palazzo using the underground parking structure can take elevators or escalators from the underground garage and arrive in the center of the property's casino.

The Palazzo Casino, like some other casinos on the strip, operates under the license of a related casino--in this case The Venetian's license. The resort's 642-foot (196 m) high hotel tower features 3,068 all-suite rooms and 375 concierge-level suites.

The History of the Palazzo Las Vegas

Despite shifting its originally scheduled opening date from December 20, 2007 to January 17, 2008, the Palazzo's 'soft opening' was a bit bumpy. Reviewers from around the world reported missing furniture, dirty water in the pipes and tons of construction debris (as well as miles of blue construction tape) all over the resort. Little by little they've ironed a lot of the issues out and as of April 2008 most of the restaurants and a chunk of the shops are open.

Location of the Palazzo Las Vegas:

The Palazzo is located to the north of the Venetian on the corner of Sands Boulevard and the Las Vegas Strip. Directly to the north of it is Wynn Las Vegas, and across the street is Treasure Island/Mirage and the Fashion Square Mall. 3325 Las Vegas Blvd South Las Vegas.

Cool Stuff About Palazzo Las Vegas:

Lamborghini Las Vegas

Lamborghini Las Vegas is the second authorized dealer in the Las Vegas area, featuring displays of exotic automobiles from automakers including Lamborghini, Bugatti, Spyker, Saleen, and Koenigsegg. The 20,000-square-foot showroom was decorated with Italian-imported marble and tile flooring, rich leather wall coverings, and vibrant artwork.

Non-buying guests of the resort are granted admission to the showroom for $10, while children ages five and under receive free admission when accompanied by a paying adult. Admission to the showroom includes a Lamborghini Las Vegas lanyard, souvenir access pass, and a discount at the world's first complete Lamborghini accessories boutique on purchases over $100.

The Shoppes at The Palazzo

Features upscale boutique stores from the likes of Van Cleef & Arpels, Jimmy Choo, Fendi, Cole Haan Piaget, Diane von Furstenberg, Chloè, Bottega Veneta, Bvlgari, Michael Kors, Burberry, Christian Louboutin, Catherine Malandrino, Anya Hindmarch, Charriol, and others. It also features an 85,000 square foot Barneys New York.

Lavo

Owned and managed by Jason Strauss & Noah Tepperberg, and overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, Lavo is a new hot spot frequented by celebrities. Lavo's menu features contemporary Italian dishes with American flare. Lavo contains over 20,000 square feet of space and turns into a lounge at night.

Jay Z has an outpost of his 40/40 club in the basement of the lobby here.

The Rooms at Palazzo Las Vegas

All of the rooms at Palazzo Las Vegas are two level suites similar to what you've probably seen at the Venetian. The Palazzo, features two types of suites, Palazzo Suites and Concierge Suites each of which has four different types of offerings:

- Palazzo Luxury (King Bed, 720 square ft)
- Palazzo Bella (Two Queen Beds, 720 square ft)
- Palazzo Fortuna (King Bed, 940 square ft)
- Palazzo Siena (King Bed, 1280 square ft, 'powder room', dining area, double door entry, marble floors, sitting area, robes, Jacuzzi tub)

The Siena suite is Palazzo's largest and most luxurious (and most expensive.) Essentially the difference between the Palazzo and Concierge offerings are Concierge Suites customers get access to the 23rd floor Concierge Lounge which hosts complimentary breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, bar and other snacks at all hours of the day. Concierge customers also get access to a private check in area, VIP elevators, and a DVD library (cool) and can have their bags packed and unpacked by Palazzo staff members. If you don't mind strangers rifling through your skivvies and/or traveling sex toy collection, feel free to enjoy this service.

Restaurants at Palazzo Las Vegas

The Palazzo features a number of dining options which seems to show the influence of what the Palazzo's owners learned opening the Venetian Macao. There's a ton of celebrity chefs and a ton of Asian food in many varieties, including:

Carnevino - Mario Batali's Italian joint
CUT - Wolfgang Puck's steak joint
Dos Caminos - Famed New York Mexican joint's Vegas offering
Dal Toro - Italian food surrounded by Italian Lamborghini sports cars
Double Helix - wine bar on the second floor by the shops.
Espressamente Illy - Fancy name for coffee joint
Grand Lux - Chinese - a second helping of the same Grand Lux found inside the Venetian.
Jade Noodles - Dim sum.
Mainland - Pan Asian food with a twist
Morels - French steakhouse, with extensive wine list
Restaurant Charlie - Charlie Trotter's seafood joint.
Sushi Samba - sushi mixed with Brazilian food. Go figure
Table 10 - Emeril Lagasse's 'American Eatery' with an obligatory BAM
Woo - More Pan-Asian cuisine

If none of this satisfies you, you can also order room service, or head over to the Venetian to see what they've got.

Palazzo Tips

The Palazzo also features the Canyon Ranch Spa Club which is shared with the Venetian. A second spa Aquavana will open in Spring 2008 and feature a number of water/heat related spa amenities, none of which make any sense to us. If you're a spa freak, give them a call for a thorough explanation.

Palazzo Las Vegas User Reviews

The hotel is beautiful, but service is appalling!

Upon arrival at The Palazzo I gave my luggage to a bellman to bring to my room. The bag was subsequently lost. While the staff apologized profusely and searched for hours (in storage areas and guest rooms), they did nothing to make the situation right. They didn't even offer to send up a toothbrush. Communication among the Guest Services staff was horrendous. And when asked what the hotel typically does in this type of situation, multiple individuals offered no assistance. Only when pressed was I offered $50 in drinks at the casino.

Once a statement and claim was filed with security , the concierge said their desk could no longer help. When I followed up with the Claims office they would only reimburse up to $750 for the lost items (which were worth over $2,500). I also had to provide receipts to be reimbursed. The bag was eventually found by a guest a couple of days later (the guest called me to tell me he found it) -- it was delivered to his room and he had a bellman pick it up.

The hotel never contacted me to tell me the bag was found. And when I called them, it took 3 hours to locate. After sending a letter to the General Manager I was offered a future 2-night stay with upgraded accommodations. (Too little, too late!) They would not reimburse me the $900 I spent to replace lost toiletries, cosmetics, clothing and shoes.

Amazing Stay

Didn't get out of bed till 4pm, and so called for maid service, not a problem, chocolate on bed when came in that night, printer, scanner, copier, fax in room for use, separate space with couch and TV, and the remote control drapes!

Best in Vegas

Attentive staff, gorgeous facilities, best hotel gym (Canyon Ranch), and the best rooms in town. We stayed in August '09 and had several rooms. One of us have traveled annually to Vegas for 30 years and he said Palazzo's rooms were unquestionably the nicest and best layouts in town. He stayed at the Wynn's Encore only months prior. Pools are great, too. If you want a more secluded pool experience, go to Azure at Palazzo vs. regular Palazzo pools.

Top Notch

The best word to describe it is WOW. Huge room with 3 flat flat screen TV's. Great casino and a less crowded Grand Lux Cafe which offered great selection of various foods that were very affordable. Great staff and the property was very secure. You

Very unhappy

I have been treated like a second class person since I arrived, been ignored by staff whale waiting for service. Asked for directions to my room and was refused. This was the start of a four day stay and has ruined the vacation for me and my wife.
